Inner beauty
The world looks at outer beauty. All too often, we are swamped daily about how you should be thin, young, have good skin, perfect hair and teeth. Ads on TV scream out you are not good enough just as you are. But what does the bible say about all of this? 1 Peter 3:3-4 ESV Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty o

For there are eunuchs who were born that way
Matthew 19 11:But He said to them, "Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. 12"For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it." I have what is known as progestin-induced virilization. It was a nice little drug that was

Don't force Gods hand through prayer
I was reading through some prayer requests at a Christian forum and remembered a time when I "forced" God's hand. Now granted you can not really force God to do anything but IT was a time in my life that I did not accept your will be done for my prayers. I was married at the time to a man who cheated on me. I was upset and wanted him back. I could not accept the fact that maybe, just maybe, God was doing me a favor by letting him be interested in someone else. I literally

Yes sometimes it is hard
Sometimes the Christian walk can be hard. I won't lie about that part. It goes against our natures to be loving, patient, gentile and humble. IT is so much easier to give in to our sinful nature. I struggle with this myself. I can be quick to judge and quick to lose my temper. Yet I am also sometimes afraid to ask for help with these things, as it seems as if I do God puts more things in my path that are irritating and easy to judge. But that is how we learn and grow is th

Witnessing to others
How do you witness to others? Well there is no one single way to witness, to be honest. Paul said 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 Paul’s Use of His Freedom 19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became l

Not being able to see the forest
When you look at this picture what do you see? Do you see a bunch of trees or a forest? Both are correct views but one of them is more scriptural. Too many times we get caught up in looking at the verses of the bible and we miss the entire message. We miss the bigger picture. All kinds of unscriptural messages and lessons can be taught just by plucking verses out of the air if we do not keep the message of the book that was written in mind. To really understand Romans you

Sometimes you have to break the law to serve God.
Yes, you heard me right. Sometimes God's commands come first over what the government wants, and this is true of spreading the gospel. This recent story brought that to mind. " An Air Force general who recently spoke about how God has guided his career should be court-martialed, a civil liberties group is saying. In a speech at a National Day of Prayer Task Force event on May 7, Maj. Gen. Craig Olson credits God for his accomplishments in the military and refers to himself as

Is it a sin to serve others?
This is one of the thorniest issues in today's world. Is baking a cake for a wedding or creating flowers a sin for a wedding, I consider sinful, a sin? The answer to that is yes and no. IF your faith is weak and you believe you would be sinning by baking that cake, then for you it would be a sin. In a case like that if the government says you have to bake it and you refuse then take your lumps with a glad heart for it says: Matthew 5 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted

My heart breaks because of some christians
It seems to be the new style of preaching hate the sinner and pound his sins into the ground. This comment is an example of what I mean: ""Love does not mean laughing and compromising on sin. Read Mathew 21:12 "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,". Jesus our great Lord did this to those. And he shall destroy sinners mercilessly wh

God did not answer my prayer
My answer- now this is me speaking directly to him. For one thing Some times God says no to us. He said no to Christ's prayer. For another thing God never promised us help from our troubles. HE promises help from temptation. He promises to put a way out of sinning (temptation) when we are tempted. Matthew 26 Jesus Prays at Gethsemane 38Then He said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me." 39And He went a little beyond
